It's me, the magnificent Quinstiff here! I just saw The Lego Batman Movie, and let me tell you: it was awesome!
The stop-motion animation was fantastic, the humor war great, and the story was itself funny and interesting. Will Arnett's Batman was an interesting take on the guy: He is selfish and narcissistic nearly all the time, however he does have some redeeming qualities that still make him funny and likable. In the end he does see the errors of his ways and becomes a much more wiser Batman. I especially like Zach Galifianakis's Joker. He is evil but in a funny and lovable way. And he also wants Batman to finally see him as his greatest enemy, something the Dark Knight never did and will never do. I know Joker's a villain, but sometimes I can't help but feel somewhat sorry for him. As for Robin, he was so freaking cute! I can't help but absolutely adore him! Michael Cera does an amazing job with Robin! Then there's Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson) and Alfred (Ralph Fiennes), who were also good.
It's interesting that they nearly brought in all the villains from the Batman franchise, including some of the more infamous ones like Crazy Quilt, Polka Dot Man, Condiment King, King Tut, and even Egghead! They even poke fun at Batman's longstanding career in television and movies, including Joker and Batman's relationship.
It may or may not be as awesome as the Lego movie itself, it was still an awesome movie to date!
Now we'll see what they can do with the new Lego Nijago movie.
